Orphan train

"Orphan Train" is a novel written by Christina Baker Kline. The story intertwines the lives of two women: Molly Ayer, a foster child on the verge of aging out of the system, and Vivian Daly, an elderly woman with a hidden past. As Molly helps Vivian clean out her attic, she discovers that Vivian was an orphan train rider, one of the thousands of children sent from the East Coast to the Midwest between 1854 and 1929.
